About Me

My love of nature and all its majesty has been an important integral part of my life.

It evolved into a desire to somehow record my experiences. With encouragement from my father, who was a small camera store owner, I began my 35 year photographic journey. The following is a list of publications in which I have published photographs: Audubon Society Field Guide to Wildflowers Eastern Region, Blue Ridge Country, Keystone Outdoors, Camping Life, Discovery Travel Adventures: Paddlesports, Discovery Travel: Adventure Star and Sky, National Parks, National Gardening How To, Pennsylvania Magazine and Destination Keystone Conservationist.

Viola pedata

I was particularly drawn to native wildflowers which are special due to their brief period of bloom each year. As soon as the first flowers appeared in early spring, I would begin scouring woodland trails in search of that perfect specimen. While doing this, it was impossible to neglect the surrounding beauty in which the flowers made their home. This would lead to many exciting distractions as I found waterfalls, butterflies, trees, and just the never ending subject matter.

Most of my free time was spent hiking, camping, cross country skiing and anything else that could get me outside with my tripod resting on my shoulder, it was here that memories were made with my wife Donna, our children and our dogs.

Glacier National Park

I have a degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University and a D.D.S. degree from Temple University. This background facilitated a scientific ability to further research what I discovered. I always wanted to know more about my subject matter. It has been and continues to be a great joy to discover and photograph both old and new natural content.
